The results are in! - 18th July 2006 |
|
Well it's time for another lazy update, I've added bits and pieces across the site (actually, that's a lie, I'm planning to add them after I write this, but they'll go up before this does, meaning that while it may be a lie now, it won't be then, which from your perspective is now). I got my results last week; managed to scrape a 2:1 (if you don't know that's one down from a first, which is very super duper) with 62% overall. I think the low result was mainly because I failed one of my modules, 'Memory, Attention, and Learning.' Luckily the second year only counts for a third of the overall mark, I figured out that if I get 75% next year then I should get a first overall; which would be nice.
I'm not really sure if I'm happy or disappointed with the result, on the one hand I thought I'd done A LOT worse, plus a 2:1 is still a very good grade with most jobs asking for it as a minimum; but on the other hand I know I could have done a lot better if I'd put more work in throughout the year. God this screen is way too dirty, I actually thought I'd put a full stop at the end of that last sentence, turns out to just be a bit of dirt on the screen. In case you're interested (as I'm sure you are!), this is what I got:
| Credits | Module Title | Percentage |
| 15 | Memory, Attention, and Learning | 32% |
| 15 | Perception, Thinking, and Reasoning | 64% |
| 15 | Social Psychology | 72% |
| 15 | Language and Lifespan Development | 68% |
| 15 | Brain and Behaviour | 58% |
| 15 | Individual Differences | 65% |
| 30 | Experimental Methods and Statistics | 67% |

Fire Breathing Gayness - 5th July 2006 |
|
Hello there! I've got a few updates for the site, couldn't be arsed to write anything interesting myself so I've put a copy of the 10 reasons why gay marriages are going to ruin society and destroy everything we hold dear. Gay marriages are like Godzilla; big, huge, large, and full of fire breathing scariness. If you ever met my brother then you'd know what I mean. Anyway, enjoy!
- Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
- Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
- Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behaviour. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
- Straight marriage has been around long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
- Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
- Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
- Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
- Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
- Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
- Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Black Gooey Stuff - 27th June 2006 |
|

It's that black gooey, that black gooey stuff, that black gooey stuff from the cartoon!!!!!!
To put it another way, I just watched the new Spiderman 3 teaser trailer, and it's got that black gooey stuff that was in the old cartoon from the nineties in it, you know the stuff that made the whole evil Spiderman until he sat next to a bell and then created Venom (is created the right word?). Always loved that storyline, and I have to say I'm more than a little glad it's made it into the film. That Green Goblin son bloke is in it too, but I guess that's a given; looks like it's going to be a great film. X-men 3 was fantastic by the way, although it was one of those films where I both loved and hated the storyline. If you haven't seen it yet then make sure you wait until the end of the credits when you do; I didn't and then someone told me I should have; Gawain was sad after finding that out.
Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go watch the trailer for a few hours; which, by the way, can be found here. |
